Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (IPMU)
The Prestigious 2010 Bruno Pontecorvo Prize has been awarded to Serguey Petcov, a professor from SISSA (Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati at Trieste and Joint Appointments researcher at IPMU, for his fundamental contribution to the investigation of neutrino propagation in matter, mu –> e + gamma, mu –> 3e processes and Majorana properties of neutrinos.
The Bruno Pontecorvo Prize has been awarded annually since 1995 by the Joint Institute dor Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Moscow to scientists who have achieved outstanding results in the field of particle physics.

IPMU併任研究者で、SISSA（イタリア国際大学院大学高等研究所）のSerguey Petcov教授が、ニュートリノが物質中をどのように透過するかという研究や、mu->e+gamma, mu->3eへの過程、ニュートリノのマジョラナ性質の功績が高く評価され、2010年ブルーノ・ポンテコルボ賞を受賞しました。
ブルーノ・ポンテコルボ賞はニュートリノ物理学に多くの先駆的業績を残したBruno Pontecorvo博士(1913-1993)を記念して1995年にロシアのJINR（ドゥブナ合同原子核研究所）によって創設されました。
